Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiades said that his visit to the UAE, witnessed the signing of four new agreements with the UAE, including Air Services Agreement, and three memorandums of understanding in higher education and science, tourism cooperation, and in the energy sector.

On the UAE- Cypriot business forum, his Excellency the Cypriot President confirmed the desire to create economical and strategic partnerships between his country and the State of the United Arab Emirates that will form a foundation for the future bilateral cooperation in various economic fields, pointing out that the UAE – Cypriot Business Forum, is a real indicator on the common desire to develop Relations between the UAE and Cyprus.

hese words of His Excellency came during the uae –cyprus Business Forum, organized by the DUBAI Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cyprus, the Ministry of Energy and Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Cyprus at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai on April 16, 2014, where he emphasized his country’s commitment to provide all facilities to attract foreign direct investment, He pointed out that this is a priority for his government, where the government has initiated several actions designed to reduce bureaucracy and encourage the practice of business in Cyprus, including speeding up procedures and extract the necessary permits, pointing out that the European Union, praised Cyprus as a model for economic recovery.

The forum was attended by HE Hamad Bu Amim, Director General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry , HE Yorgos lakotribis, Minister of Energy and Commerce, Industry and Tourism,HE Harris Giorgiades, Minister of Finance of Cyprus, HE Christodoulos Ongestiniotis, head of the agency promoting investment in Cyprus and some of business leaders from both countries.
